Tran Dang:
Please tell me what is
the requirement to live
in Lang Tre. It will be
sold to individual per
unit or rented or low
income housing with
government help paying a
portion of rent. Thanks.
Nhut Tran:
My name is Nhut Tran.
Both my wife and myself
are older than 60 y/o
and are interested in
buying an apartment in
Lang Tre. What are the
required qualifications?
Could you please send us
more infos?
We appreciate very much
your assistance.
Sincerely.
Note: Please excuse us
for writing in English.
We don't have the VNse
software to write in
Vnse.
Golden Bamboo Village (GBV)
is a 60-unit apartment
complex for seniors over
the age of 62, who are
low, very-low, and
extremely low-income
(maximum $25,000/ single
person per year or
$29,000/ couple per
year).
The total project cost
is $3,600,000, and GBV
is required through a
conditional commitment
to obtain contribution
matching funds of
$360,000 from the
community, foundations,
and corporations. Once
we obtain the matching
funds, construction will
begin and will be
completed a year
afterward. Please help
us to meet the City’s
requirement,

details.
HUD and City of Houston
will issue the guide
line and application
about 6 months before
the Grand Opening.
Sydney Dao:
Please allow me to
introduce myself. My
name is Sydney Dao,
Chloe Dao's sister.
Chloe and I are very
interested in your
project and would like
to help you raise the
much needed funds.
We understand that you
want us to have a
fashion show
fundraiser.
Unfortunately, due to
Chloe's hectic schedule
this is out of the
question. What we had
in mind is a shopping
cocktail party at the
boutique. 15% of the
sales generated during
the party will go to
Bamboo Village. We were
thinking of partnering
with the Asian American
Bar Association. They
are a very strong and
active group in the
community. Yellow
Magazine would also be a
great partner for event
to get exposure for your
project. I will pitch
the idea to both next
week.
Lynn Huynh:
I heard about the
project and think it is
a great idea for the
Vietnamese senior
community. I am
involved with a few
Asian organizations. We
do a lot of fund raising
and community works. I
would like to bounce a
few ideas to our
organizations and see if
we can coordinate a fund
raising event to help
with your senior
center. I'll pass your
information along to our
group. Thank you for
the information and I
will keep you posted
about the upcoming fund
raising events.
Johnathan Nguyen - Asia
Houston Network:
I will be mailing you a
$1,000 check via US
Postal Office to the
address that you list on
your web site. Please
confirming that you
receive the check when
you receive it.
Thank you so much for
your help and support. I
look forward to hearing
from you.
Cuong Nguyen:
I attended the Lang Tre
Fundraising Dinner at
Kim Son Restaurant and
was very enthusiastic
when seeing many of our
Vietnamese people in the
community showing up and
contributing
generously. Please let
us know if Lang Tre had
been raising enough
funds and when the
construction would
begin. Thank you.
Thank you very much for attending our Fundraising Dinner at
Kim Son Bellaire on
Sunday, March 04, 2007.
Your presence was a
great encouragement for
the Fundraising
Committee and also a
valuable contribution to
the success of our
Fundraising Dinner. The
number of attending
guests exceeded 600
people, which was beyond
the Fundraising
Committee’s
expectations, and almost
$30,000 in donations was
instantly contributed.
However, up until today
(March 27, 2007), there
have been 295 generous
donors, raising the
total amount of
Donations up to $115,200
compared to the City
assigned amount of
$360,000. From this
promising outcome, City
had approved us to have
the Ceremony of The
First Brick Installation
on May 2007 with the
requirement that we have
to raise an extra
$15,000 plus all of the
promised amounts from
the Foundations.
Therefore, we deeply
appreciate your help,
with your creditability,
by asking for
contributions from your
relatives and friends in
order for us to complete
the Construction project
by next spring. |
